The Royal National Lifeboat Institution - Saves Lives at Sea

Despite having 5 callouts in December and another 3 in January, (which is one of our highest callout rates for the winter months)none of the shouts have been serious or newsworthy.

However it does reinforce the fact that the volunteers are available 365 days a year to attend to any calls, big or small, which might have proved to have cost a life, if the RNLI lifeboats weren't there to provide a safety net for people who require it in the Forth.

And the need seems to be greater than ever. Last year was again a record breaking year for the number of callouts Kinghorn were tasked to, averaging out at more than one emergency call every week of the year!(although the spring/summer months actually prove to be the busiest.)

However users of the Forth Estuary can sleep peacefully knowing that the RNLI lifeboat coverage in their area is one of the best, with highly trained crews which is reinforced by experience gained due to the large number and varied degrees of emergencies they cover.
