The Royal National Lifeboat Institution - Saves Lives at Sea

Kinghorn RNLI Lifeboat volunteers have been presented with a cheque for £300 by employees of BAE System’s Dalgety Bay facility.

Employees at the factory in Dalgety Bay make monthly donations and these are distributed to local charities and good causes.

Two BAE representatives visited Kinghorn Lifeboat Station on Sunday and were given a tour of the station and met members of the volunteer crew before presenting the cheque.

Operations Manager, Paul Wibberley said, ‘we are very grateful for this donation from the employees of BAE Systems at Dalgety Bay. The RNLI relies on contributions like this £300 to continue to provide a rescue service around the coast of the UK and Ireland.

‘98% of our income comes from donations and last year the RNLI saved 438 lives around the country.’

Further details of how to take part in fundraising events for the RNLI can be found on its website.
