The Royal National Lifeboat Institution - Saves Lives at Sea

Kinghorn RNLI Lifeboat Fundraising Branch and the local Kingswood Hotel held another hugely successful Christmas shopping event on Friday 9th November, raising over £4,260 for Kinghorn lifeboat.

The Kingswood Hotel held a similar event last year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of owners Kathryn and Rankin Bell running the hotel. The event was such a success that they decided to hold it again in 2012.
The sell-out event offered supporters the opportunity to start their Christmas shopping early and get some unique gifts ranging from local handmade jewellery, whisky, relaxation therapies, and other home wares, whilst also being treated to a fashion show and raffle.

Kinghorn lifeboat fundraising chairperson, Sheona Baxter said, ‘The inaugural event in 2011 was a great success and we were delighted when the Kingswood hotel approached us wishing to hold this event again. We are delighted with the outcome of the event this year.

‘The fashion show added an extra attraction this year, and the number of stalls increased to over 20.

‘£4,260 is an absolutely stunning total and my grateful thanks to our supporters who came along, and to everyone for the effort on the night. A great event...and of course a huge thank you has to go to Rankin & Kathryn Bell for their support throughout.

‘This money will go towards the annual running costs of Kinghorn lifeboat station. It costs around £90,000 per year to run an inshore lifeboat station, such as Kinghorn.’

The next fundraising event will be the Christmas fayre, which will be held on Saturday 24th November in Kinghorn Church hall.
