RNLI KINGHORN LIFEBOAT OPEN DAY
Kinghorn RNLI Lifeboat volunteers will host their annual Open Day on Saturday 7th July.
The Open Day – the highlight of the fundraising calendar in Kinghorn – will begin at 12pm and feature a number of attractions including stalls, amusements and a rescue demonstration by the lifeboat and Royal Navy helicopter.
Lifeboat helmsman Scott McIlravie continued, ‘This annual event is a fantastic day out for the whole family. We have many of our usual stalls this year, as well as popular attractions including beach games, putting and a yellow welly throwing competition. We’ll also welcome Newfoundland rescue dogs for the first time. They will carry out a demonstration too.
‘A rescue demonstration will be performed in front of your eyes with the lifeboat and Sea King helicopter (unless anyone needs rescued of course!).
‘The RNLI is a charity which is totally reliant upon donations from the public, but instead of just putting money in a tin, your whole family can enjoy themselves, have a great day at the beach, whilst learning more about the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and supporting us and the service the volunteers provide.’
The fundraising committee are also looking for home baking, plants and good quality bric-a-brac to help raise funds for the RNLI. These can be handed in to the boathouse on Friday night or Saturday morning before 10am.
We hope to see as many people there as possible!
