The Royal National Lifeboat Institution - Saves Lives at Sea

Kinghorn RNLI Lifeboat Fundraising Branch and the local Kingswood Hotel completed their Christmas Shopping on Friday 11th November, raising over £3,351.00 for Kinghorn lifeboat in the process.

The Kingswood Hotel owners Kathryn and Rankin Bell decided to celebrate 25 years at the hotel with an exciting shopping event, in aid of the RNLI.

The hotel hosted a Christmas shopping event, with 17 stalls offering a wide variety of gifts including jewellery, handbags, beauty products, chocolates, handmade gifts, and children’s party clothing. There was also flower arranging demonstrations and a raffle.

Kinghorn lifeboat fundraising committee member, Gina Fisher said, “We were delighted when the Kingswood approached us looking to host an event for the RNLI. The shopping evening was a hugely successful event, attended by over 200 people.

“The hotel provided all guests with a glass of wine and a selection of beautiful canapés. A star prize of dinner, bed and breakfast at the hotel was also won by a lucky guest.

“We had a magnificent response from everyone who attended, with many glowing compliments.

“The funds raised at this event will go towards new lifejackets for the crew at Kinghorn. These new lifejackets are being introduced across the whole country, and have been designed by the RNLI and the manufacturer. They have incorporated new design features which will aid volunteer crewmembers at sea.

”We must thank the Bell’s for their generosity with hosting this event, they put a huge effort in, and making the evening the great success it was.”

The next fundraising event will be the Christmas fayre, which will be held on Saturday 26th November in Kinghorn Church hall.
