The Royal National Lifeboat Institution - Saves Lives at Sea

Despite the poor weather on Saturday, the RNLI are £3600 better off, thanks to the fundraising efforts of the volunteers and crew of Kinghorn lifeboat, and the generosity of the Public who came along in their droves to support the event

Mike McErlane, a Helmsman on the lifeboat said, "This is our main fundraising event of the year and it was just fantastic to see so many people coming along to support the RNLI, even although the weather could have been better. We have lots of people beavering away in the background on the day helping to raise funds by operating stalls and games, yet it is always the lifeboat that steals the limelight!"

Mike who has been a volunteer on the crew for more than 20 years, added " Without funding such as this, the lifeboat would never leave the boathouse! The RNLI is a charity, not public funded and is totally operated on the generosity of the public. I would just like to express my thanks and that of the rest of the crew and fundraisers, to all the people who took the time to come along and support us, thanks to your generosity, the RNLI will continue to save lives."
