Called to Inchcolm Island for a Vessel Aground

People Assisted: 6

Whilst on routine exercise in the Aberdour and Inchcolm area, the lifeboat crew were alerted by the crew of a motorcruiser which had run aground on the Meadulse rocks north of Inchcolm island.

The lifeboat crew tried to pass a towline to the vessel but struggled to get close enough due to the shallow waters.

The casualty vessel, which still had engine power, eventually managed to free themselves from the rocks. The lifeboat stood off and monitored the situation. Aberdeen Coastguard then requested our volunteer crew to escort the vessel back to Port Edgar in case more significant damage to the casualty had been incurred.
