Called to Seafield, Kirkcaldy for a Person Stranded
People Assisted: 1
Whilst on a training exercise the lifeboat was tasked to assist in the rescue of a 60 year old female who had fallen and suffered a suspected broken ankle on the beach between Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy.
The volunteer crew arrived within five minutes, and went ashore to assist. Coastguard and Ambulance personnel arrived at the same time and decided the casualty would need removed by helicopter due to the remote location.
The Royal Navy rescue helicopter was on scene 40 minutes later and winched the casualty from the beach and took her to an awaiting ambulance at Seafield.
The lifeboat then returned to station.
