Called to Leith for a Vessel Disabled

People Assisted: 6

Dunbar lifeboat requested the assistance of Kinghorn lifeboat to help with the berthing of a 20m (66') yacht into Leith harbour.

The yacht had started taking water during the previous night and had two pumps winched on board by the RAF. The yacht was then escorted under its own power towards Leith but suffered engine failure off the Bass Rock. Dunbar then towed the vessel to Leith.

Kinghorn acted as a tug and assisted with taking the yacht through Leith lock and then with mooring in difficult conditions.
