Called to Methil for a Vessel Sunk

People Assisted: 2

The Anstruther and Kinghorn lifeboats, along with a rescue helicopter and several private vessels, were involved in a search for a man who was lost when a small fishing vessel sank off Methil harbour. One crewman had been able to eventually swim ashore to raise the alarm, but his companion had not been able to follow.

The man was eventually located near Largo Bay and was taken to hospital by helicopter, where it was later confirmed that he had died.
