Called to Cramond Island for a Person Stranded

People Assisted: 20

The lifeboat was called to assist the Queensferry Lifeboat in the rescue of 20 people who had become stranded by the tide on Cramond Island. As the Kinghorn lifeboat arrived on scene it became apparent there were only 2 people left on the island as the rest had waded ashore with children on their shoulders. The Queensferry Lifeboat took the remaining people ashore.

It is extremely dangerous to wade across the incoming tidal current in this manner, especially if carrying children on your shoulders, and the RNLI and Coastguard strongly discourage this sort of dangerous activity.
